Enviro-management 2013: 7th Annual International Experts´ Conference

One of the basic duties of municipalities is to secure a functional waste management system. In this area interests of citizens, municipalities, operators of waste disposal, waste incinerator and waste recovery sites, as well as government and eu are closely interlinked.

Cities and municipalities are obliged to respect european and national legislative norms as they make decisions about the systems to be used. At the same time they have to take into acc ount public opinion and their own financial possibilities.

Symposium: Waste-to-Resources 2013

Unter Schirmherrschaft von Bundesumweltminister Peter Altmaier findet vom 11.-14. Juni 2013 in Hannover die 5. Internationale Tagung und Fachausstellung MBA, Sortierung und Recycling, Waste-to-Resources 2013, statt. Mit Teilnehmern aus jeweils rund 40 Staaten in den vergangenen Jahren ist es die weltweit größte Konferenz mit diesem Schwerpunkt. In diesem Jahr ist es erstmals eine gemeinsame Veranstaltung der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Stoffspezifische Abfallbehandlung (ASA) und von Wasteconsult international, die an Stelle der der bisher eigenständigen Tagungen der beiden Veranstalter tritt.

Final Conference: Household participation – a cornerstone in modern and sustainable waste management

The partners of the project Waste to Resources will welcome you to a conference about sustainable waste management. We will discuss necessary conditions for a sustainable waste management based on sorting at the source - such as practical sorting facilities, effective communication and adequate framework conditions.

As a practitioner or policy maker involved in developing waste management, this is a perfect opportunity to listen to and discuss the experiences of five progressive municipalities and municipal companies in Sweden and Poland. Best practices has also been analyzed and developed by three universities participating in the project.

Practical experiences on advanced municipal sewage treatment

16 - 17 October 2012, PURE FINAL CONFERENCE, Gdansk, Poland

The event consists of two parts:

  • on 16th October the Polish national situation and international views on the role of municipal waste water treatment in reaching EU norms and HELCOM recommendations are discussed and results and experiences of EU financed project PURE* in Belarus, Estonia, Germany, Latvia and Poland are presented and shared;
  • on 17th October in the morning there will be an excursion to the Gdansk's 'Wschód' WWTP

The event is organized by Project on Urban Reduction on Eutrophication (PURE) and it will be the Final Conference of the project.

BDF Summit and EUSBSR Annual Forum 2012
