The project is delivered by means of a series of work packages:
Work Package 1 - Management
Work Package 2 - Information, Communication and Dissemination
Work Package 3 - Recovery Pilot Projects Aimed at Large Scale Investments
Work Package 4 - Investment Plans and Implementation
Work Package 5 - Joint Strategy for the Development of Waste Management Investment in the Baltic Sea Region
The project will directly target 30 decision makers on a local/regional and national level, providing support for investments in waste management. It will also assist decision makers in developing sustainable investments in line with the latest research and BAT worldwide, via matchmaking events and database creation. The project will also establish links between at least 4 EU networks with worldwide associations in waste management (e.g. ISWA, MEDA, EUREKA, ESPON) to increase dissemination, to reach BAT and to make a better model/strategy.
Furthermore, the project will establish one transnational and cross-sectorial platform for expertise exchange in waste management in the Baltic Sea Region, which will increase the perspectives and regional competitiveness in this field. All planned activities aim to develop ‘best‘ pilots unlocking investments of €20 million and direct links to potentially 10 investors (IFIs and private sector) that are included in the partnership along with activities. The project approach and results are transferable at all levels.
